Audrey Langstroth

Founder and Second Generation Master Instructor

Audrey's personal journey to Pilates began when she was introduced to the method while rehabbing from a dance injury, gaining an understanding of the rehabilitative roots of Pilates long before it became a buzz word in the fitness industry. While working as a personal trainer, and then later in wellness and rehabilitation, Audrey has always found a way to naturally infuse the fundamentals of Pilates into attainable and tailored programs for her clients and students.

Audrey opened Nephesh Pilates in 2008, starting in a modest one-room studio with a focus on rehabilitation and specialized private instruction. She quickly outgrew the space and now oversees a busy and highly-acclaimed Sacramento studio with a team of 12 teachers, providing clients with private and group instruction for both rehab and fitness.

Audrey holds her comprehensive Pilates certification from leading educator Body Arts and Science International (BASI) and has studied under numerous doctors and physical therapists in the field of Pilates rehab for spine conditions and injuries, as well as knee and hip arthroplasty. She is certified by the USA Center for Women's Fitness as a Pilates Method Pre/Post Natal Specialist, and is also trained in gait analysis and re-education.

Always longing to increase the depth of her Pilates knowledge, Audrey underwent extensive Pilates Master training in 2011 under Pilates elder Lolita San Miguel (one of only two who were certified by Joseph Pilates himself), and earned her Second Generation Master Instructor certification from San Miguel in 2012.

Known for her challenging and comprehensive training programs, Audrey’s desire for her students is that they find physical strength and health, and the resulting joy. "Pilates is not only an avenue to physical health, but a personal transformation. It must be a life changer. A transformation of not only your body, but your soul...your mind...your spirit. You!"
